COMPLETE BRAND AND WEBSITE DESIGN
A brand and website design project for luxury wedding florist, Wessex Flower Co.
THE BRIEF
Alicia, the head florist and owner wanted a brand that felt luxurious, elegant and delicate, reflecting the floral displays they create and their overall style. The project goal was to elevate their current brand and website to attract more premium clients who would appreciate the whimsical bouquets and showstopper floral arrangements and had larger budgets to make florals a main part of their wedding. Alicia also wanted to differentiate herself from other local florists and their all green websites with a memorable brand style and easy-to-navigate website that echoed high-end wedding luxury stationery.
THE PROCESS
To make the brand more personal to the business we drew inspiration from the foraged hedgerow stems that Alicia uses in all her arrangements and captured them as hand-drawn elements that were then used across the new branding, on the website and in the packaging. A small beetle is a repeating feature throughout the website to add a touch of charm and whimsy, whilst a customised font adds elegance to the brand logos.
We wanted to move away from too much use of green in the palette to further differentiate from her competitors so we created a palette centered around navy, light blue and a mid-tone green for the website with a whole range of bright colours to be used across social media and marketing. This allows the beautiful images of her floral creations to standout on the website without being overpowered by competing colours whilst retaining her fun, personality on social media through use of the brighter tones in the colour palette.
